Review Applications

This is an application under the Licensing Act 2003, which may be made by an “Interested Party”, asking the Local Authority to reconsider the conditions on a Premises Licence or Club Premises Certificate, or whether that licence should be suspended for up to three months or revoked. This could have a big impact upon your business and advice should be sought at the earliest opportunity.

‘Interested Party’ includes residents, businesses, councillors, MP's and responsible authorities (Police, Fire, Trading Standards, EHO etc).

Reviews are brought as one or more of the four Licensing Objectives may have been undermined

  • The Prevention of Crime and Disorder
  • The Prevention of Public Nuisance
  • Pubic Safety
  • Protection of Children from Harm

  • At WLS we can give that advice or refer you to a legal advisor if appropriate.

We can also offer an investigative service to examine any review application data supplied by the responsible authority and/or conduct site visits to assist in defending the Premises License/Club Premise Certificate.
